Direct Air Capture (DAC) has become an Industry itself, since after about one decade the number of companies involved into this technology has increased from only 5 to around 80. DAC technologies vary in many ways, and systems can be categorised by both, their capture type and release mechanism.
One of the start-ups in this CO2 capture arising industry, Greenlyte, has trusted the potential of EWK cooling towers to achieve the purpose of decarbonisation.
The models EWK-036 and EWK-680 were chosen as a first step to test carbon sequestration. The units will be monitored in terms of carbon dioxide removal (CDR), energy consumption, and more. The aim is to validate this technology for carbon removal, and its subsequent commercial implementation worldwide.
